1. Definition :

Analytical text is a text that describes a phenomenon or problem comprehensively by using arguments that support the idea of the text.


2. Generic structure :

The generic structure of analytical exposition text consists of thesis, argument, and reiteration.

A. Thesis: the first part of the text is the thesis, which is an explanation of the topic of the problem and the author's opinion.

B. Arguments: this section describes the arguments that support the author's opinion.

C. Reiteration: the final part of the text is reiteration which is in the form of rewriting the thesis or opinion of the author.


3. Purpose :

To convince the reader that the topics presented was an important topic to be discussed or gaiAn analytical exposition is a type of text in which the purpose is to persuade the audience by making an argument.


4. Language featured :

– Using relational process

– Using internal conjunction

– Using causal conjunction

– Using Simple Present Tense

– Using compound and complex sentence.

– Use word that link argument, such as firstly, secondly, and reasoning through causal conjunction, such as in addition, furthermore, however, therefore.
